HOW TO STYLE THE DR. MARTENS 1461 SHOE

The 1461 shoes in black were my first pair of DM’s. I love their comfort and support, and you can wear them just as easily in the summer or the winter. The 1461 Cherry Red helps to bring out my eccentric side. Never be afraid to mismatch colours or patterns to shine a light on the shoes. Or if you want to switch things up a bit and liven up an outfit, you could try changing the laces or adding some accessories. Anything is possible with these shoes.

The 1461 shoe is such a classic style. It’s perfect for any occasion and easy to dress up or down to fit your personal style or mood. What I like about this outfit is that for me it would work for several occasions. I would wear this to work or just when I am going to see my family or friends. I love combining my 1461 shoes with some cool socks and an anklet. Especially with a more classic shoe like this, it’s nice to add a little edge to it.

I try to break barriers with my style. I see fashion as being genderless, so I’m always experimenting with clothes and having fun with my outfits. The 1461 is a style that adapts to all styles and all situations. The unique way this leather gets better with age makes them feel authentic and rugged, too. For me, DM’s are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit. This is one I can wear every day and for multiple occasions, whether that be to go to work or to grab a drink with friends.

I love the 1461 shoes, but especially this double stitch 1461. The yellow lining with the double stitch just adds that extra character. It gives them a very clean and classic finish. I have styled them with a black hoody designed by another DM’s colleague, some slim flares, a skirt for a little extra pizzazz, and an orange jacket to brighten my day and keep me warm. But they can be worn with literally anything. To me they are an all-purpose shoe. Great for winter, very stylish, and comfortable all-year round.

The 1461 Mono Black are such a classic shoe that can be worn for any situation. I love to experiment with tailored garments, whether it’s suit trousers or an oversized blazer, and contrast them with more casual vintage pieces. They make me feel loud, confident and ready to tackle any situation.

I’d describe my style as a mixture of Rock and Classic. I like to combine the grunge look with classic wear, such as coats or leather jackets. What I like about the 1461 shoe is that you can combine it with casual wear, as well as with classic style. You could also wear a 1461 with a suit but still keep some of that edgy look. I styled this pair with a vintage leather biker jacket, a white tee and black skinny jeans. Sometimes less is more.
