A new era begins. The 1461 shoe reworked and reimagined. An experiment that questions the nature of our traditional silhouettes and recontextualises our industrial design history through a modernist lens. The 1461 form has been distorted and reconfigured replacing the standard lacing system with an AquaGuard zip enclosure. The upper is constructed from contrasting material panels to create textural contradictions. The construction prioritises soft, full-grain Lunar leather for flexibility and durability. With hardwearing Sorento leather and flexible, tear-resistant Cosmo Hub Ripstop panels. Finished with scuff and water-resistant TecTuff rubber-grained leather across the toe and a moulded rubber bisecting the heel. The shoe is set on our new Clubwedge outsole with exaggerated cleats and rugged aesthetic complimented with a cushioned SoftWair innersole. Each pair is marked as true Dr. Martens with a yellow welt stitch and AirWair heel loop. DM’s history colliding with an unknown future.
