In the 80s and 90s, Smiley® became the symbol of electronic music subcultures founded on acceptance and uninhibited joy — the Jorge Smiley® slip-on celebrates music’s positivity and the defiant optimism of the dancefloor. We’ve rebuilt the versatile mule using black Chewbacca suede, and a Bouclé Smiley® badge, with Smiley® branded sock artwork. The mule is fastened with DM’s branded buckles and stands on our grooved Shore outsole secured with yellow welt stitching.​

  • Long Napped suede has a heavy nap with a casual distressed appearance. Wipe away dirt with a damp cloth and brush carefully and only as required. Apply Dr. Martens Ultra Protector spray for an additional layer of protection.
  • Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at up to 700˚C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch.

Clean suede by brushing with a stiff bristle brush or proprietary suede cleaning brush to carefully raise the suede nap.

Construction

This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
