DIY DOCS: Lisa Rosenfeld

Our team have been flexing their creative skills. We’re encouraging the Docs community to join in and customise their shoes and boots. We caught up with Lisa Rosenfeld from our Düsseldorf store, who has been hard at work on the smooth leather of her platform Jadon Hi boots.

Lisa’s customisation is inspired by Japanese artwork and the natural elements.

Can you tell us a bit about your design?

I’m often inspired by traditional Japanese art — it influences my work and art in general. Since Japanese art is very colourful, I wanted to keep the customisation simple. I decided to create a black and white design with some red detailing. I divided the design across both boots.

What did you use to customise your Docs?

I used some white and red Acrylic ink, and some Edding markers for details. You have to be really careful with the colours because it takes a while to dry. I ended up with smears of paint on my hands, my pants, my desk — everywhere! Be careful and take your time.

What Docs are your current favourites?

My current favourite is the Jadon Max boot. I love the massive platform and the silver detailing. The bigger platform is such a bold look — I’m convinced that everyone can rock a platform!

What do you do in your free time?

Last year I started tattooing and it’s become my passion — I invest as much of my time as possible in that. I love to spend a whole day drawing and painting to improve my skills. I listen to a lot of music and audiobooks while I’m drawing — it really helps me to sink into work and focus my concentration.
