Grunge-age daydreams

Since its launch in the summer of 2020, Heaven by Marc Jacobs has embodied nostalgia for the youthful rebellion of the 90s — a technicolor manifestation of a binary-defying, forward-facing generation. Our latest collaboration with the brainchild of Ava Nirui explores new ways to play with two DM’s silhouettes that capture the playful, distorted femme edge that defined the 90s — and continues today.

DR. MARTENS X HEAVEN BY MARC JACOBS

RICKI HEAVEN BY MJ 2-STRAP PLATFORM SANDALS

+ Supple black brando leather
+ Lightweight 1.9" Quad neoteric sole
+ Brushed silver double-headed bear clasp
+ Dual-branded moulded rubber label
+ Adjustable riptape straps

A grunge-inspired adjustable 2-strap version of our Ricki sandal, constructed from supple Brando leather and built on our lightweight Quad Neoteric platform sole with deep, exaggerated cleating. The Ricki 2-strap HMJ has a brushed silver double-headed bear clasp and is finished with yellow welt stitching.

ADDINA HEAVEN BY MJ BEX SHOES

+ Smooth leather
+ 1.5” Smoke Bex outsole
+ Yellow welt stitch
+ Brushed silver double-headed bear clasp

From a traditional school shoe to a subversive staple, the Mary Jane silhouette has been reinvented again and again. Our own version dates back to the 80s, and it’s been everywhere since — Paris runways, grunge gigs, Harajuku streets. The Addina DS Bex HMJ rework dials up the attitude on a stacked Bex sole with double yellow welt stitching and a brushed silver double-headed bear buckle.
