Twickenham DMs fan (disappointed).
- Classic style - but you have to know that 1461s are made in 3 different shapes - not obvious from the DMs website. These pointed toe narrow-fit shoes fit really well and don't make you look like a policeman. They also polish up really well.
It's essentially a classic gibson shoe with the comfort of a DM sole.
- DMs have always required a lot of breaking-in, but the leather on these Vietnamese-made shoes seemed super-stiff. My last pair (made in Thailand) were much better.
You can also pick them up much cheaper elsewhere online, but I had to be sure I was getting the narrow fit model. You need to know about a 59 last, an 84 last (pointed) and a comfort fit last, along with their respective item codes but this info seems hard to come by.
That said, all my shoes are DMs!
