Product Development Manager

We are now looking to recruit a new Product Development Manager to join our Creative function.  This role requires regular international travel to work with our overseas factories.
 
As a member of the Development team, you will work directly with and be the key interface between our Product and Design teams in the UK and our factories in Asia.  In this role you will be responsible for commercialising a high volume and wide variety of footwear styles for our seasonal footwear ranges.   Against a tight timetable, you will develop and refine prototype products to fully deliver the aesthetic, technical and financial requirements of the identified brief.  
 
The successful candidate will also work closely with our small UK factory to further develop our range of “Made in England” products.
 
Applicants will be able to combine their technical skill, experience and “know how” with a creative flair and innovative approach that allows them to contribute commercial new ideas that enhance our brand offering.
 
Candidates will have a good knowledge of various footwear constructions (e.g. cemented, corner stitch, welted etc) and the required development and production process.  Ability to use 3D CAD systems is preferred, as would a working technical knowledge of Industrial safety footwear standards.

UK - Assistant Manager, Manchester

We are now looking to recruit an Assistant Manager with a footwear / fashion retail background, to work at our new store opening on Market Street in Manchester, in May 2012.
 
The Assistant Manager aids the Retail Store Manager in the efficient and cost-effective operation of the store. 
 
As part of the management team, this position supports the management and development of a team of Sales Assistants.  This team will provide exceptional customer service, promoting and selling Dr Martens products in order to achieve sales targets and store objectives.

Applicants will be I.T literate (i.e. Excel, Word) and demonstrate good communication skills in order to build relationships with customers and other departments across the business.  Familiarity with stock management processes would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Team Leader or Supervisor and will be energetic and enthusiastic, with a passion for the Dr Martens brand. 
 
Please note this is a full time role that involves working evenings and weekends.

UK - Retail Store Manager, Manchester

We are looking to recruit an experienced Retail Store Manager who, with the support of his/her management team, can lead and develop a team of Sales Assistants at our new store opening on Market Street in Manchester, in May 2012.
 
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of the efficient and cost effective operation of the store.  This will involve maximising sales through exceptional customer service and product knowledge.  Staff development and motivation will be key to achieving store targets and objectives.
 
This position is also accountable for stock management, security and health & safety in store.  Applicants should have a working knowledge of financial and administrative processes (such as recruitment and payroll).
 
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Retail Store Manager within the fashion/footwear industry and have a passion for the Dr Martens brand. 
 
Excellent communication skills are essential to support the management and reporting requirements of the store.  Applicants should be I.T. literate (e.g. Word and Excel) and possess a good commercial awareness of the retail environment.

UK - Stock Room Assistant, Covent Garden

We are now recruiting for a Stock Room Assistant to join the team at our store in Covent Garden, London.

The role will provide support to our busy sales team on the shop floor by maintaining the stock rooms at a high standard, ensuring all product is correctly located and assisting with picking, packing and replenishment. 
 
The job will also involve performing stock takes and coordinating the return of product to our Warehouse.
 
Experience within a stock room environment is essential.  A background in the fashion or footwear retail industry would be advantageous, although relevant training will be provided.
