Tell us about yourself: what you do, where you’re from, and how long you've been with Dr. Martens.
My name is Justin and I am from Minneapolis Minnesota, I've been the Store Manager for the Dr. Martens Store in the Mall of America for over 2 years now.
Besides Docs, What are your passions?
I really love traveling, I've been to Japan twice now and I will be returning sometime next year. I also enjoy fashion and modifying my own clothes. I have always loved street fashion and try to emulate it in my everyday look, life is too short to dress boring!
What was the inspiration behind the designs you created for DIY Docs?
I had a pair of 101's and I have always wanted to customize a pair. I was inspired by the film The VVitch I am really into creepy movies and the occult. I decided to draw a broom and an old key respectively on each boot. I love the extra detail on the outsole.
Tell us about your first pair of Docs. How old were you when you got them? Where did you get them? What did they look like? Do you still have them?
My first pair was actually acquired in Portland on my first day of training. It is a pair of Smooth Cherry Red Jadons. They are still in pretty good condition as I don’t wear Quad Retro that often. I like to wear them on occasion when I need something really extra to go with my outfit.
