Weston Function over form!
- have black stitching (instead of yellow stitching, which gets me tutted at in the office these days.) and black sole-rubber. The pebbled leather looked like a nice change, too.
- These were a horrible fit!
The shape of the last/sole was certainly about size 10, but didn't feel like any other boot or shoe from this manufacturer that I'd ever owned.
Worse, it was like the sewing-machine operator who'd made them had somehow sewn the uppers (leather part) of a size 12 boot onto the sole of a size 10.
Even wearing two pairs of my thickest hiking socks, and pulling the laces so tight that the leather edges of the lace-guards were touching, I could not get the ankle-cuff and instep areas tight enough around the foot to prevent "heel lift" just while walking around my lounge. And, I have big calves and ankles! I am quite certain this would have lead to regular blisters if I'd kept them instead of returning them.
What went wrong here, Manufacturer of these famous 1460 boots?
The fact that I'm bothering to write a review 6 months after return & refund should show you how strongly I feel, even though my busy lifestyle kept me from putting pen to paper for all this time.
