Blending the LA-label’s west-coast aesthetic with our iconic silhouette, our latest 1460 Remastered collaboration stays true to Pleasures’ style of mixing the past and the present.

Brand founder Alex James wanted to fuse the raw, resounding energy of punk rock with the glossy, modernistic feel of new wave — and it’s not just a fusion of brands. It’s a collision of genres. A merging of subcultures that have helped to shape both our brands.

James wanted to highlight that it’s not just DM’s construction that’s durable. The 1460 boot has weathered countless trends, eras and subcultures — all while staying true to its core design. The 1460 Pleasures is a tribute to this timeless, genre-crossing design. And straddles two genres that are sewn into both DM’s and Pleasures’ heritage.

“During a visit to our Cobbs Lane factory, I asked the boot makers if they had ever split a boot in half before. “The general consensus was ‘no’. And I was like: Let’s make it!””

Split down the middle, the 1460 Pleasures is made up of two clashing materials — the polished patent of new wave and tough DM’s Smooth for punk.“PLEASURES NOW” is branded down the heel strip, and the boot comes with dual laces ⁠— one black and one yellow ⁠— and hook eyelets. It arrives in bespoke packaging that commemorates Dr. Martens 60th anniversary.

For our 60th anniversary, we worked with 12 innovative labels, brands and designers on 12 one-off reworks of our Original boot, each limited to 1460 pairs worldwide. Dropping once each month throughout 2020, the boots usually sold out in minutes.
