DR. MARTENS X DENIM TEARS (2023)

This collaboration draws inspiration from Chris Ofili’s Union Black (2003), which is a reimagining of the British Union Jack flag in Pan-African colours: black, green and red. 

Denim Tears founder, Tremaine Emory, uses fashion to explore African-American history and provoke cultural dialogue.

The Dr. Martens x Denim Tears collection marks 75 years since the Windrush arrival. By merging heritage, art, and activism, the collaboration honours the transformative impact of Caribbean communities on British art, music, and fashion.
