A DM’s staple since the early 80s. The Adrian loafer is reworked in heel to toe monochrome black. Our original slip-on shoe takes black and dials it up from the durable Smooth Leather with fringe and tassel detail to our ever-present welt stitch and classic AirWair sole. A statement that speaks for itself.

  • The first Docs shoe inspired by subcultures. The Adrian rolled off the production line in the 70s – fusing mod-like smartness with DM’s-level durability
  • A pillar of DM’s construction. Our Original and most recognisable sole. A height of 1.25"/3.17cm — marked by a traditional DMS tread pattern that's unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, well known for its comfort and stability
  • Hardwearing and famously tough, our Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed-up. It's up to you. Clean with a damp cloth and care with Dr. Martens Shoe Polish
  • Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at 700˚C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch

Material

Smooth - durable and famously stiff to start, this leather can be polished to a dapper shine or artfully scuffed-up depending on your preference.

Care Instructions

Wipe away dirt using a damp cloth. Apply a neutral or correct colored wax based shoe polish. Buff with a Dr. Martens Shoe Brush to restore shine as desired.

Construction

This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
