I was at the Back to the Beginning concert, and it felt like a momentous time for metal, an incredible day, and it was really special to see them there and be part of it.
FAVOURITE PIECE OF MEMORABILIA?
I have a collection of 80s and 90s Metallica vests that are cool because they connect me to an era of the band before I was born. They really stand out, and people always stop and ask me about them.

DESCRIBE THE METALLICA COMMUNITY
For me, Metallica is my life. It's the community I live in. Most of my friends are people I've met through Metallica. They're from all over the world, and that's why I go to so many of their shows. I get to see the band, but mostly I go for the people.
FAVOURITE PIECE OF MEMORABILIA?
Probably one of their original demo cassettes from the dawn of the band. Those cassettes encapsulate a time period where they were unknown; the band thought they were going to be big, but no one knew what was about to happen.

RUBY: My dad (Rob) has been playing me Metallica since I was in the womb, Until It Sleeps is one of the songs I’ve grown up on. And Crown of Barbed Wire reminds me so much of him and what he’s given up for our family.

ROB: I feel relaxed and centred. I can block out the outside world and not worry about anything. RUBY: It gets my blood pumping. It's so energetic. And it creates like scenes or animations in my head whenever I listen to them
