A story written in leather. Our Northamptonshire factory saw the birth of our unmistakable 1460 boot on 1st April 1960. 65 years after that first boot kicked off a legacy, our expert shoemakers have handcrafted a limited-edition boot that pays tribute to the silhouette’s enduring place at the heart of Dr. Martens. Only 1460 pairs are available.

The 1460 Love Letter boot is made from C. F. Stead’s luxurious, full-grain Classic Calf leather in rich burgundy with archive-inspired contrast stitching. This stitching highlights the curves of our design language and exaggerates the boot’s contours. The leather’s blend of natural waxes and oils produces a subtle pull-up that will develop uniquely with every step you take. Our signed heel loop is recreated in matching leather. The boot’s first production date, which it was named for, is stamped on the tongue: 1.4.60.

Antique gold eyelets and tonal burgundy laces complement the boot’s leather. Our vintage trans DMS sole features the unique DM’s grooving pattern and our distinctive yellow welt stitching.
