- Without a doubt, these are a quality pair of shoes.
The leather is firm, yet flexible where it needs to be. I haven't worn them long enough to know for sure, but it looks like these won't wrinkle at the flex point as much, if at all.
They're surprisingly comfortable. At first glance it seems like they may be a bit stiff, but they actually give way to natural movement on both the top and the bottom of the foot.
The shoebox is nice.
They take on a very subtle, eye-catching, luster when you apply a small amount of protective wax.
- Doesn't come with sufficient protection inside the shoe box between the shoes (just the regular thin tissue paper). Mine had some scuffs when I first took them out. At first I was very disappointed, but I was able to buff them out with some wax.
Not really a con, but something to be aware of: if you are wearing a slim fit or tapered pair of pants, you may want to consider getting the Steed as these shoes are slightly wider and more bulky. This may or may not bother you depending on your taste. If you wear a regular fit pair of pants, you're golden.
