With Dr. Martens' factory history being so rich, it is very tempting to offer materials that are inspired by that industrial heritage. Anilmorbido is just such a leather - a high shine metallic finish which wraps around the 3-Eye Shoe and 4-Eye Boot to create an exciting new derivation of these classic uppers. When combined with the delicate Byzantium Silk on the Brogue Shoe and Boot, the metal tones produce an intriguing combination; likewise, when used in isolation on the new Tassel Mary Jane - a hybrid of a Tassel Loafer and a classic Mary Jane - the shimmering, modernist effect is equally compelling. Dr. Martens is proud to continue its association with one of the oldest silk mills in Europe, Stephen Walters & Sons, who have been in the silk trade since 1720. Like Dr. Martens, Stephen Walters and Sons enjoy a long-established reputation fuelled by their continued use of traditional methods and expertise passed down through many generations to produce bespoke products of the highest quality. The delicate Byzantium Silk is combined with the metallic sheen of the Anilmorbido on the English Brogue Shoe and Brogue Boot to produce a modernist and edgy take on a classic upper. Much simpler but equally elegant are the 3-Eye Shoe in a monotone black silk and a 4-Eye Boot in Light Grey silk.
