Youth subculture has always customised its own Dr. Martens. Likewise this same instinct to make an individual statement has seen tattoos become a crucial part of youth culture.
The Core Print segment takes the 8-Eye Boot and 3-Eye Shoe and covers them in bold, colourful tattoos, all designed in-house by the brand’s design team. The original skins’ ‘Spirit of 1969’ is still evident, with knuckledusters, a bulldog, skulls, a cherry red boot and spiders’ webs all included. Also featured are dice, crucifixes, a bleeding eye, a dagger slicing through the heel and the phrase ‘Stand For Something’, tying in with the current Dr. Martens marketing campaign.
